We’ve come so far!

Milestones reached in the Flamingo children’s hospice project:

• May 2022: Approval of the building rights contract for the site in Fällanden, Canton Zurich
• October 2022: Planning application for the new building project
• December 2022: Foundation of Kinderhospiz Flamingo AG as the operating company
• April 2023: Receipt of the legally binding building permit
• August 2023: With its decision of 30 August 2023, the Zurich cantonal government wants to support the construction of the Flamingo children’s hospice with CHF 6 million from their charitable fund. The final decision now lies with the Zurich Cantonal Council.
• September 2023: Receipt of the building permit
• December 5th 2023: Ground-breaking ceremony
• December 18th 2023, Zurich Cantonal Council approves the resolution of the cantonal government to finance Flamingo children’s hospice with CHF 6 million from their charitable fund.

• Q1/2024: Excavation work, securing the excavation pit
• Q2/2024: Laying of the foundation stone in June 2024
• Fundraising and financing for the construction and operation
• Creation of operational and organisational concepts
